Tashon Roberts Convicted of Running a Major Fentanyl Distribution Operation

DENVER — Denver District Attorney John Walsh today announced that a jury has convicted 33 year-old Tashon Roberts of all four counts that he was facing related to the manufacture, possession and distribution of fentanyl.  In addition, Roberts was convicted of three counts of Child Abuse – Exposure to the Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance and one count of Tampering with Physical Evidence. Roberts was also convicted of three “Special Drug Offender” sentence enhancement charges.

Between January 2024 and August 2024, police believed Roberts was responsible for the production of millions of individual fentanyl pills — as many as six-hundred thousand fentanyl pills per month — out of laboratories that he operated within two separate Aurora homes. It is believed that the pills were then distributed throughout the Denver metro.

“Addressing the ongoing fentanyl crisis is a top priority for the DA’s office – and a critical part of our response is targeted investigation and enforcement aimed at high-level drug dealers like Tashon Roberts. This case sends the clear message that people who traffic in this deadly drug in Denver will be caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.  I want to thank the prosecutors and investigators in my office, the detectives with the Denver Police Department’s Major Narcotics Trafficking Unit and the Denver Criminal Interdiction Task Force for their outstanding work on this case,” said DA Walsh.

“We are pleased to hear that Mr. Roberts, who knew that what he was doing greatly endangered lives in our city, will be off the streets for many years,” said Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas. “I applaud our Major Narcotics Trafficking Unit, the Denver Criminal Interdiction Task Force and the Denver District Attorney’s Office, who remained committed to this investigation to ensure that he was held accountable.”

Roberts could face more than 100 years in prison when he’s sentenced on April 11.
