SUSPECT CHARGED IN TRIPLE HOMICIDE
Denver District Attorney Beth McCann has formally charged a man in connection with the shooting deaths of three people in August.
Maurice Butler (dob: 03-09-1980) is charged with three counts of murder in the first degree-after deliberation (F1). The charges were direct-filed in Denver District Court late yesterday. Butler was arrested by Denver police on September 6.
The charges allege that on or about August 9, 2018, in the 700 block of S. Broadway, the defendant shot and killed 28-year-old Nicole Boston, 39-year-old Jerome Coronado, and 45-year-old Christopher Zamudio.
“The quality investigative work of the Denver Police Department was relentless and exceptional in this case,” District Attorney Beth McCann noted.
No further details are available at this time as the arrest affidavit is sealed by court order.
The defendant is scheduled to appear on September 14 at 8:30 a.m. in courtroom 4G for advisement.
