MAN CHARGED IN FATAL TEEN STABBING

Defendant at-large since July; arrested September 10

Denver District Attorney Beth McCann has formally charged a man in connection with the fatal stabbing of a teen on East Colfax in July.

Auviauntea Evans (dob: 03-06-1999) is charged with one count of first degree murder-after deliberation (F1).  The charge was direct-filed, at-large in Denver District Court against the missing suspect on July 24 and a warrant for his arrest was issued.  Evans was arrested by Denver police on September 10.

The defendant is accused of fatally stabbing 17-year-old Reese Grant-Cobb on July 1, 2018, near 571 E. Colfax Avenue during an altercation with the victim.

The defendant is scheduled to make his first appearance in district court on September 14, at 8:30 a.m. in courtroom 4G.
