Four Adults and Two Juveniles Charged with Armed Carjacking
DENVER—Prosecutors with the Denver District Attorney’s Office today announced that criminal cases have been filed against four adult males and two juvenile males for their alleged roles in an aggravated armed double carjacking that occurred last month in Cherry Creek. Josiah McCray (age 19), Jurdon Bryant-Beasley (age 19), Elrich Haliburton (age 18), Nyariee Richardson (age 20), a 16-year old juvenile and a 15-year old juvenile are all charged separately in Denver District Court and Juvenile Court.
On January 24, 2023, Denver Police Department officers responded to a 911 call of a robbery in the parking lot at East 2nd Avenue and University Boulevard. Two victims reported that as they parked, a group of males surrounded their vehicle and demanded that they exit their vehicle. The victims were forcibly pulled out of their vehicle at gunpoint and both were struck in the heads with pistols. It is alleged that the defendants then stole their car and fled. Law enforcement pursued the stolen car to 17th Ave. and Willow St. where the car stopped and several individuals exited the car allegedly to carjack a second vehicle. Officers arrested the six defendants in a nearby backyard.
Josiah McCray is charged with one count of violating Colorado’s Organized Crime Control Act (F2). He is also charged with three counts of aggravated robbery (F3), one count of second degree assault (F4), one count of aggravated motor vehicle theft (F4), one count of aggravated motor vehicle theft (F5), two counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery (F4), two counts of attempted robbery (F4), one count of conspiracy to commit aggravated motor vehicle theft (F5) and one count of conspiracy to commit aggravated motor vehicle theft (F6). This is Denver District Court case number 23CR494.
Jurdon Bryant-Beasley is also charged with one count of violating Colorado’s Organized Crime Control Act (F2). He is also charged with two counts of aggravated robbery (F3), two counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery (F4), two counts of attempted aggravated robbery (F4), one count of aggravated motor vehicle theft (F4), one count of conspiracy to commit aggravated motor vehicle theft (F5), one count of aggravated motor vehicle theft (F5), and one count of attempted aggravated motor vehicle theft (F6). This is Denver District Court case number 23CR490.
Elrich Haliburton is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery (F3), two counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery (F4), one count of aggravated motor vehicle theft (F4), one count of conspiracy to commit aggravated motor vehicle theft (F5) and one count of aggravated motor vehicle theft (F5). This is Denver District Court case number 23CR491.
Nyariee Richardson is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery (F3), one count of aggravated motor vehicle theft (F4), one count of aggravated motor vehicle theft (F5), two counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery (F4), two counts of attempted aggravated robbery (F4), one count of attempt to influence a public servant (F4), one count of conspiracy to commit aggravated motor vehicle theft (F5) and one count of aggravated motor vehicle theft (F6). This is Denver District Court case number 23CR493.
The 16-year-old male juvenile is charged with three counts of aggravated robbery (F3), one count of second degree assault (F4), one count of aggravated motor vehicle theft (F4), one count of aggravated motor vehicle theft (F5), one count of conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery (F4), one count of conspiracy to commit aggravated motor vehicle theft (F5) and with the sentence enhancing charge of being a violent juvenile offender using a weapon. This is Juvenile Court case number 23JD000047.
The 15-year-old male juvenile is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery (F3), one count of aggravated motor vehicle theft (F4), one count of aggravated motor vehicle theft (F5), one count of conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery (F4), one count of conspiracy to commit aggravated motor vehicle theft (F5) and one count of attempt to commit aggravated motor vehicle theft (F6). This is Juvenile Court case number 23JD000049.

The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual(s) committed a crime(s) under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo. RPC 3.6.
