District Attorney McCann Issues Officer-Involved Shoot Letter Decision (Duran)
DISTRICT ATTORNEY MCCANN ISSUES OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING LETTER
Investigation and Decision Re February 2018 Shooting of Alex Duran
The legal review of the officer-involved shooting that occurred on February 6, 2018, at 1873 S. Alcott Street has been completed. A copy of the decision letter from Denver District Attorney Beth McCann to Denver Police Chief Robert White is attached, and posted at DenverDA.org (NewsMedia) along with the investigation protocol.
District Attorney McCann concluded that the shooting was legally justified for the reasons outlined in the letter.
District Attorney McCann will host a community meeting to discuss the legal analysis and conclusion reached. The public meeting will be held on Thursday June 28th from 6 pm – 7:30 p.m. at Hadley Branch Library, 1890 S. Grove Street 80219 in the Community Meeting Room.
