DENVER DA’S OFFICE RE-LAUNCHES CITIZENS ACADEMY

One-day introductory “Denver DA 101” program scheduled

 

The Denver District Attorney’s Office is launching the revival of its Citizens Academy program to provide ongoing practical information to the residents of Denver regarding the criminal justice system. The Citizens Academy is for individuals who live or work in the City and County of Denver.

 

The purpose of the Citizens Academy is to

 

  1. Build and sustain a positive relationship between the community and the District Attorney’s Office;
  2. Enhance public understanding of the District Attorney’s Office by providing insights into the operations and procedures of the Office;
  3. Empower community members to become more proactively involved with the criminal legal system and their respective communities; and
  4. Reduce crime and increase reporting due as a result of a better understanding of the laws, the criminal justice process, and the consequences of criminal misconduct.

 

To kick off its Citizens Academy program, the District Attorney’s Office will host a free, one-day, introductory “Denver DA 101” program featuring interactive presentations and discussions by the District Attorney and other members of the office.
