Denver DA Charges Gregory Snell with the December Murder of Benjamin Williams
DENVER—On December 24, 2022, 40-year-old Benjamin Williams died from a gunshot wound while he was in a hotel in the 6700 block of East Colfax Avenue. The Office of the Medical Examiner ruled his death was a homicide. After a thorough investigation the Denver Police Department announced the arrest of Gregory Snell in connection with Williams’ homicide on April 10, 2023. Prosecutors with the Denver DA’s Office today announced that Gregory Snell, who was 53-years-old at the time of the incident, is now charged with Williams’ murder.
Snell faces one count of murder in the first degree (F1), one count of murder in the second degree (F2), and one count of aggravated robbery (F3). This is Denver District Court case number 23CR1988. The Probable Cause Statement is currently sealed.
