City of Denver to Hold Warrant Clearance Event
DENVER — The City of Denver will hold its third Fresh Start warrant clearance event this Saturday, May 11, at The Assessment, Intake, and Diversion (AID) Center of Denver, 1370 Elati Street, from 9 am to 1 pm. A person is eligible if they have active warrants for one or more of the following:
- A Denver misdemeanor case
- A Denver municipal case, including criminal traffic offenses
- A probation violation in a Denver County or Municipal Court case
- A failure to appear at a 2nd Advisement in a Class 4, 5 or 6 non-Victim Rights Act (VRA) felony
Domestic violence, higher-level felony cases and VRA cases are not eligible for the Fresh Start program. Regardless of eligibility, no arrests will be made.
People who are eligible can speak with defense attorneys, have their outstanding warrants cleared, and either resolve their court cases or set new court dates.
The media is invited to attend, though reporters and photographers will not be allowed inside The AID Center unless they have submitted a request for expanded media coverage (EMC) and the request has been approved. In advance of the event, we would appreciate whatever coverage you could give the event in order to maximize participation.
This event is being presented by the Denver County Court, Denver District Attorney’s Office, Office of the Municipal Public Defender, Office of the Colorado State Public Defender, Alternate Defense Counsel, Denver County Probation, Denver Pretrial Services, Denver City Attorney’s Office, and the Denver Sheriff Department.
