Auviauntea Evans Sentenced for Fatally Stabbing Teen

 DENVER—This morning, Judge Shelley Gilman sentenced Auviauntea Evans (age 20) to serve a 40-year prison term for fatally stabbing 17-year old Reese Grant-Cobb.  The Denver District Attorney announced on July 29, 2019, that Evans pleaded guilty to murder in the second degree.

Evans was originally charged with one count of first degree murder (F1) for the July 1, 2018 incident in which Evans had a physical altercation with Grant-Cobb near 571 E. Colfax Avenue. During the course of the assault, he fatally stabbed Grant-Cobb.
